Christmas Goodness

Hello All.


I hope you had a good Christmas.
I had a huge Christmas post planned but I actually FROZE on the 25th, so people at my house had to de-freeze me and now I am back : )




It was by far the gloomiest Christmas (weather wise) I have ever experienced. I wanted to do a whole 'What-I-Wore-Post' but the light was so bad outside!
Even today there was so much fog, here in Dilli.


But anyway, no outfit pictures but still Look what I found under my Christmas Tree!

Babushka Doll earrings.

Babushka Dolls are apparently the next big thing in accessories after the Owl.

Yup. Same rings that I featured Here in one of the Boyfriend Blazer looks.

Btw, Forever 21 is having a Students Discount till December 31st. I flashed my Student ID the last time and got a sweet 15% off :D


I am going to go again before the year ends just to use that discount again!

Angelina Jolie's Aversion To Colour

Even though I am completely on TEAM JEN I cannot deny the obvious, this woman is hot. And my irritation with her is the same with Aishwariya Rai. You are STUNNING. Why won`t you wear equally stunning clothes?

Angie started the Tourist promotions with a really nice White Versace Dress.(Going from Right-Left) Some did call it a robe but still, it was gorgeous. But it was all downhill from there.

A weird dress with inbuilt gloves (also Versace) then two Pantsuits in a ROW.
I do like the simple LDB but not for promoting your MOVIE! Its way too plain.
And then another Versace gown with a god awful velvet skirt. I do like the bodice. If only the entire dress was of the same material.

I don`t get it. Its not like she`ll look awful in colour!

And another, while she was pregnant in 2008.

Thats it. Yup. Four dresses.

Boyfriend Blazer

 Boyfriend blazers are extremely  versatile: they can easily be worn casually for a day of classes, but they can also be dressed up for for the night with the right accessories.

'Boyfriend Blazer' doesn`t mean you just go into your man`s closet and pick one up and put it on. The fit still has to be right for you. Its actually the fit and the cut of the blazer that makes it feminine.

This trend also allows for a lot of layering which is perfect for the weather right now.

A very laid back and comfortable look. It can be dressed up or down by playing with the accessories.

I love wearing plain sweaters over skinny jeans or leggings and dressing it up with lots of accessories!

Here I played with the texture of the Blazer and went with a Sequined one. But its not all out BLINGY. Quite subtle.
Zara has a similar grey one which i LOVE.

Also, jewel tones are so pretty without looking as if you tried too hard.
These Oscar de le Renta drop earrings are on literally every Christmas gift guide that I have been through and apparently are sold out on most of the online shopping sites. I am not surprised. They are absolutely gorgeous and are for $309.

All the blazers I have mentioned are available at Forever 21, Zara, Mango, Promod, Only, Vero Moda, Marks and Spencers and you might want to check out other high street brands. I got one from FCUK last year and the fit is brilliant.

Hollywood Style Awards 2010

Katie Cassidy looking amazing in a Georges Chakra gown. Looks a million times better than she ever did in her little (I mean long and boring) stint on gossip girl. The make up is a little dull and she looks washed out but the dress is wow!

 Kate Bosworth. She was cleaning the house and it was the 1920s. She had to rush to the event.

 Angela Lindvall. Dont really know who she is but call PETA she killed a bird to make this dress.

Kaley Cuoco. Nice dress. But seen similar, too often.

 Victroria Justice. Meh dress. But OhMyGod those SATIN PURPLE PUMPS!

Selena Gomez. Love the top part of her dress. Not the weird green  on the end.

Lea Michelle. Ripped a curtain from 1920s to make the dress.

Chris Colfer. Most awesome guy on TV.  After Neil Patrick Harris ofcourse.

The Perfect @ Home French Manicure

I really like a simple French manicure (not the Rani Mukherjee acrylic kinds!) but I am not going to go to a Salon  and pay them something like Rs.500 to do something I can do at home.

I have been doing my own French Manicure for a long time but the problem always comes with the white tip of course. I always did the white tip with the nail polish brush. But obviously they are much thicker than the line you want on your tip, and so its not very precise. Sometimes it ends up being really thick. All this just means doing the tip over and over again.




But this time I used a thin Paint Brush to do the job. 

Its a normal paintbrush that was lying around. Its No. 5

Because its much thinner you have a greater control over the line and you can also color in any mistakes.
Just dip a little less than half of the brush in the white nail polish and paint the tip. After you are done just wash off the brush with some nailpolish remover.

I used Colorbar exclusive 40 (two coats) as a base. It is a little more pinker than the usual base coat. Colorbar exclusive 37 for the tip.

Munni VS Sheela

After going through many perverted and almost illegal comments on the video of Sheela Ki Jawani on you tube I gathered that many people believe that THIS song is the 'munni killer' or much better than Munni Badnam Hui.


Well both are a piece of art (very raunchy..or sensuous art, however you may look at it) and thus are very subjective and of course everyone has the right to their own view.


 So here I will express my right to a view and put these very hot songs against each other : )


It`s time for the Battle of the Item Songs!

So going to Miss Sheela first. I quite like the song and I must admit, even though I don`t like Katrina Kaif very much she is indeed looking very hot and has stepped out of her comfort zone. I am all for the narcissism the song calls for, specially when Sheela wants you to call out her name. And lines like "main toh khud ko gale lagaon"

Also not really liking the copying of  JUMMA CHUMMA DEDE video
with workers and their mugs. Go see  the video .

The Choreography is amazing of course its done by directer and one of the best choreographers around Farah Khan. The mind blowing body waves and belly dancing moves Katrina does are quite something. The song also has Akshaye Kumar doing something or the other. I don`t even think he`s dancing, I couldn`t figure out what exactly he was doing. And it was so insignificant that I really don`t remember.

One problem I do have with all of this is that Katrina later gives an interview saying that her song is not at all raunchy but cute! And she would never want to be a brazen sex symbol. I am a tad bit confused by this Because I do not understand how a good looking woman as Katrina, wearing just a bed sheet (or so we are led to believe) going all DHAK DHAK on us is not supposed to be viewed not as sexy but CUTE!? 

Okay, I get it you dont think you are a sex symbol but in this song whether you like it or not, you ARE. Sometimes I think she`s talking about another song altogether. Anyway.
 I was really enjoying this song till these weird apologetic comments came later to ensure that people don`t think of her as JUST another girl doing an item number or whatever her concern was. Or maybe I read way too much into things and it IS a cute song? I need some help here. Am I searching for sexual innuendos where there are none or what!?
Lines I like: I know you want it but you never gonna get it; tere haath kabhi na aana






Next up is Madam Munni performed by the producer of the mega hit Da-BANG (get it!) This song also is choreographed by Farah Khan who choreographed Malaika in her First item number Chaiya Chaiya in Dil Se. I don`t really remember but I do hope she got some sort of filmfare award or something for this song because it was nothing but amazing. Come on. They were all dancing on a freaking moving TRAIN.

MUNNI has to be the perfect SEXY INDIAN song. Its rustic and the whole song is in Hindi. Malaika Arora`s eyes and expression make this song even more sensual. I think that contributes more than her waist doing the latka and jhatkas. 

But yeah, her dancing style is completely different but she dances in a way which IS raunchy but I dont think its vulgar at all.  I am having a hard time describing this video because it is hard. But people who have seen this video and throughly enjoy it may know what I mean. And of course it has Salman Khan come in and do some funnny moves with Munni ( who happens to be his BHABHI in real life). Also really like the overall styling of thie video. All the cholis and jewelery.
Lines I like: Shilpa sa figure Bebo si adaa, Bebo si adaa, Hai mere jhatke mein filmi mazaa re filmi mazaa.

MY VERDICT

For me the winner is MUNNI

and I`ll tell you why.

Malaika Arora is an Item girl. She`s said it  before and is NOT apologetic about it, whereas Katrina Kaif seems to want to do these kinds of things while also giving her justifications for it. All this really ruined Sheela for me.

Why do you have to be apologetic about it?

Also it`s refreshing to hear a rustic Indian song with lots of oomph in it rather than another hindi song with English lines to it. Remember BEEDI?

Although Katrina displayed amazing belly dancing skill in Sheela I like Mailaika`s dancing style much much better specially cos she`s so expressive ( her eyes! )

Don`t you think Malaika should also get extra points for being a Mother and pulling this off : )

[And I know I `am going to get killed for this but I do think Malaika is WAY hotter than Katrina.]

Also Katrina said in another ineterview that Sheela Ki Jawani has a more Chicago feel to it. Has she SEEN Chicago. How can something called Sheela Ki Jawani have any other feel to it But Indian?!

I really want to hear what you guys think of this. Even if you hate and completely disagree with what I just said :D

Oh to be a VS angel!

I love watching this show every year cos of the energy and fun it exudes.

I know Monikangana Dutta is on her way to become one of the angels but I really think Deepika Padukone would make a really good VS model. She also had a never ending waist and is quite tall.
