Golden Globes Red Carpet 2012

Award season is upon us again. And its so much of fun recaping the red carpets that happen in the west rather than in our own country. For me its because its more organized there, and well um..cleaner. Oh AND its live, rather than telecasting it two weeks later with edits and alot of shoo shaa. AND they`re funnier and can take a joke and then some, about themselves. Unlike us uptight Indians.

Getting on with it, The Golden Globes happened last night (today morning IST). I am patiently waitiing for a good link to see Ricky Gervais  take some Hollywood ass..till then heres the Red Carpet!

Loving Nicole Kidmans Versace. Its a little risque for her. But she works it.

Anjelina in another Versace. It does wash her out a little, but ignoring that fact- its quite nice. A little quirky, just the way I like it.

But she always manages to look like a Disney villain at these Red Carpets.

Speaking of Disney villains, two Snow Whites are going to be released soon. Charlize Theron plays the evil Queen in one and Julia Roberts in another. The Julia Roberts one- Mirror, Mirror has a HILARIOUS trailer.

If there is ANY need for a THIRD snowhite, they all know whom to cast as the Evil Queen.

Speaking of Ms Theron..She KILLED it in a Dior slit gown.

There`s a plunging neckline AND a slit, breaking the "either show chest or legs" rule.

But does it really matter? I doubt many people could`ve done this apart from her.

I am also loving the colour.

I LOVE Reese Whitherspoon. I mean how CANT you love this woman, she`s adorbs!

But I wish she would`ve worn something more 'WOW' than this Zac Posen sweetheart neck gown.

Also I have a thing with wearing Red on a d RED carpet.

Whats the point no?

Yes, Jessica Biel must be feeling very 'Bridal' these days so I guess you can give her a pass when she decided to wear this VERY bridal Ellie Saab (and she was seemingly THE only one wearing Ellie Saab! :O I was looking forward to someone wearing something from his S/S 2012 Colour shock!! Oscars?SAG? please?)

But the inernet was a buzz with the fact that M(r)s Biel wasnt sporting the (apparent) engagment ring on the carpet.

How hot is Salma Hayek? How HOT is this dress?

Whose it by? GUCCI! Obvs!

Michelle Williams (in Jason Wu)..you played MARYLN MONROE this year. Wasnt there ANY OOMPH left?

But on the other hand, sensible people in Hollywood dress like themselves on the red carpet rather than the character they are/have played in a movie. Take notes bollyland. 

I do like the simplicity of this Jenny Packham dress Kate Winslet is wearing but um..I think its TOO simple for the Golden Globes. thoughts?

Natalie Portman in Lanvin..this being her first proper appearance after having her baby.

This dress seems like the cousin of Anjelina`s dress.

Emma Stone in another Lanvin. Loving the two tone of the dress and how it brings out the hair.

Would really like to see close ups of that belt. Seems interesting.

Lea Micheal oomphed it up in this Marchesa.

I dont know what going on with Sarah Michelle Geller`s Monique Lhuillier gown. I mean its kinda cool but not for the Red Carpet of the GGs.

Every one Katy Perry`s first apperance after the divorce...oh wait (sorry had to do that!!)

Only Zooey Deschanel could pull off such a quirky Prada dress. It would`ve looked quite bad on someone else. I just wish she did her hair better.

All eyes were on Natalie Portman last year, both for her Red Carpet choices and her performance in Black Swan

This years its Rooney Mara for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

She needs to find a better stylist though..to get her looks that bring out her edginess.

Heidi in Calvin Klein collection. I love how the Nude dress brings out the blue turquoise necklace.But the dress seems a little dated doesnt it?

Wait for it..

BOOM! Now thats the Heidi I LOVE!!

Mila Kunis in Dior. Quite a disappointment from the fashion high she was riding on last year 

I think every Red Carpet sends a memo to all actors that SOMEONE needs to show up wearing a Black dress with emeralds. That criteria SIMPLY has to be filled otherwise the world will end sooner than expected!

So it was Julianne Moore`s turn this year.

I think a standing ovation needs to be given to the E! presenter Gulianna who recently went through a DOUBLE MASTECTOMY, one or two months back and is BACK to work, and working it HOW!
